Hawaiian Clouds

Hawaiian Clouds

Hawaiian Clouds

This is another pastel I did for my pastel class.  I’m really having a lot of fun exploring pastels and landscapes.

This is the view from the lanai where we stayed in Maui last year.  Actually this was a sunrise, but I turned it into a sunset.

I’m feeling like I need to paint an abstract.  These landscapes stretch me and challenge me.  That is fine and good.  But I love to paint abstracts.

I was totally drawn in to the work by the colors. So beautiful. I love blues the best and was surprised at how this affected me like the color blue.

Hi Mary, Thank you for your comments. I thought maybe the yellows/oranges were too bright, but then decided can a color ever be too bright? No.

I love this painting, Kerry, purple and various shades thereof are my favourite colours. This looks so peaceful.

Thank you so much. I love bright colors. I just can’t leave them alone. I tried a more muted palette for a bit, but it just wasn’t me.
