I have never been able to really draw faces very well.  I recently took this free, online class from these great guys at Drawing Coach.  They show, very simply, where everything belongs.

I have had this sitting around for a long time.  I just wasn’t sure it was good enough to post anywhere.  So this morning, I painted it, and here it is.

This is probably how many of us with FM, Lyme, CFS have looked over the years.

Thank you so much, I’m honored. I’m in the middle of a horrific pain flare, I’ll respond to this later.

I love all the colors in your painting, Annie

Thank you. I’m so glad you liked the colors. I used to use very bright colors, then somehow got it in my head I needed to mute them down. No more. In my soul, I’m a bright color painter. So this is one of my first ones going back to brighter colors.

Just so you know, you can receive awards as many times as they are given to you. I like the picture. The face is great and yes, I feel like this a lot. Thank you so much for sharing this. I would say this is excellent, especially when you say you’ve never been able to do faces very well because you just did. Keep up the nice work.

Thank you so much. I was really intimidated to paint this, but finally just jumped in. Right now I’m taking a figure drawing class. Who knows what will be showing up in my work?

You’re quite welcome. Don’t be intimidated, follow your heart. You did an awesome job and I see that several others enjoyed it, as well. Can’t wait to see what you come up with next. I’m sure it will be awesome. You inspire me, just thought you should know that.:)

Kerry, I give you WordPress Family Award, but I see you have it. Maybe is possible to have two of them?

Thank you, Ewa. I don’t know if a person can receive this twice, but why not? Thanks for thinking of me.

    • December 2, 2013 at 3:00 pm

Ewa, I gave this some thought. I think I’ll not take any action on this award. The reason is that I just started blogging, and I don’t have many followers. I’m new to blogging. So I just awarded this to people, and I would end up awarding it to the same people again. Thank you, though for nominating me.

I think she looks pretty good compared to me (at least she has on make-up!) 🙂 I like how it flows with the rest of the work around it (I’m not an artist but appreciate art). Good job!

Thank you so much, Leigh. I really appreciate all your support for my blog. It means a lot to me. See, you help me.

Take a look when you feel like it, I put up falling snow for the holidays.

This is really good. I can really feel what you want to put across, colour choice and everything works so well. The face expression, spot on.

Thank you so much, Dawn. It’s my first face since maybe college and the first one I’ve painted. She just kind of appeared as I was sketching, and I totally related to her.

Thank you so much. This painting was such a big deal for me. I have been working hard on drawing faces and trying to get some expression in them.

That is how I feel sometimes! Good job! I like what you’ve done in this painting and the face is good.
